Testifying before Justice Okon Abang, Doyin Okupe told the court that as a leader of the party, the former president was in charge of issuing money for various party’s assignment.

Okupe said such duties are not designated to any subordinate. He also told the court that during a discussion with Jonathan, the former president had told him that due to Nigerians negative view about the PDP, and a need for a new face for the party, that Metuh and some consultants had made some suggestions to him.

He also said that the president further called for a meeting between the former Senate president, David Mark, former Chairman of the party, Tony Anenih, and Peter Obi.

He said the meeting which took place in November 2014, at the presidential villa saw presentations from Metuh and some media teams.

The presentations also got the approval of the former president, Okupe said. He said it was on this presidential approval that Jonathan instructed the payment N400 million for the project suggested by Metuh’s media team.

He added that the instruction came after the former president found some time to source for funding for the media project.

“Very early in the morning, I got a call from chief Metuh who told me that he has received N400 million from the president, as a candidate to election, the president had immense capacity to response. And this was demonstrated by the amount of money the president was able to raise, during the fund raising activity in the villa,” Okupe said.

Okupe continued: “Yet there are people who may not necessarily show publicly their support in public; who privately give their support to the president, substantial funds became available to the president, which he also made available for projects that he feels will enhance his course.”

The witness also said he is not aware of the source of the money for the media project aside that it came from the former president.

“I don’t know anything about this. It looks strange to me. The president could have paid for the campaign activities himself,” he said.

Having listened to the testimony, the trial judge, Okon Abang adjourned the matter to Thursday, May 19 for continuation of trial.

She wrapped her belly and slept. When she woke up, she lost 2.5 inches on her waist!

With a generation of overweight people, most of us are striving really hard just to lose weight not only for health purposes, but also to look good. We are also aware that since a lot of people are struggling with weight loss, a lot of methods, supplements, and techniques have surfaced online claiming excellent results. Some of us are guilty to have tried most of them, and they turned out either disappointing or with minimal to no effect at all.

But do you know that you can lose 2.5 inches off your waist overnight with a very simple method? This works with no effort at all aside from the very easy process. It involves getting your waist wrapped with plastic and bandages.

For the DIY body wrap, you need the following:

  • lotion (it’s best if it contains something from the ocean: seaweed, kelp, mud)
  • clear plastic wrap
  • bandage wrap

How to do it:

  1. Apply a thick layer of lotion to the area you want to target. Make sure not to rub it in completely. You can do it on your stomach, your thighs, your upper arms, wherever your “trouble spots” are.
  2. Wrap the ENTIRE area with your plastic wrap several times. Make it snug but not tight; you do have to wear it ALL night long.
  3. Now wrap the area with a long bandage of some kind, anything that will keep your wrap in place. Be sure to cover the plastic completely.
  4. Secure it well and you’re ready to hit the sack!

Coleen, a mom discovered this method and wants to share it with others who want to achieve the same effects. She said, “After three births, my stomach was no longer flat and attractive. I was persuaded by a friend to buy seaweed lotion, plastic wrap and bandages, to achieve weight loss. When I got up, I took off the bandages and wrap and measured my waist. I was in shock. I lost 2.5 inches during one night.”

This method is best to try during the summer. Since it will remove excess fluid from your body, the heat from the summer season will help you sweat it off and lose more. But since the effects are short-lived since water can easily be replaced in our body, you have to combine exercise and healthy diet with it to maintain the amazing results.

“I’ve only tried it and I LOVED the result! Maybe a little something to help get you swimsuit ready,” says Coleen.

Gerrard said: “Winning the final against Sevilla will mean a European trophy, a place in history for all those players and the sense they are at the beginning of a new era under one of the greatest coaches of his generation.

“All the talk in August would be about what was next for Jurgen Klopp’s side – a possible title challenge. With the calibre of player they could attract, and Champions League qualification, there would be confidence Liverpool could challenge.”

He continued: “Then there is the darker road, the one none of us who love Liverpool want to contemplate. It’s the second final defeat in a matter of months, disrupting the feel-good-factor achieved in securing that flight to Switzerland, undermining the meaning of those notable wins over Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.”

The legendary captain also added: “Not just another year without a trophy, but no European competitions at all next season. That would have an impact on the quality of players Klopp could attract, the financial rewards for the club and the morale of the squad.”

Ahead of the final, Klopp believes a final game is more of 50-50, adding that he is not worried about the eventual outcome of the final:

“There is no frustration. Before a final I think only about a performance. All you can do is win or lose! All the teams I have had in finals performed really well and had close games, so I am not frustrated with my final record. Sure, I could have won more, but that is how it is,” said Klopp.

7 rules you will know from living in a real Nigerian setting

Now if you live abroad but within a group of Nigerians, this may not be exclusive to you except you practice everything Nigerians do and your cultural heritage has not been adulterated.

Living in Nigeria where you get to see people from different backgrounds would make you understand the things that would be discussed in this piece. There are certain habits and doctrines that are exclusive to Nigerians alone.

This means wherever you meet people who do these things, you can always guess they are Nigerians. Most homes in Nigeria follow this rules and no one is allowed to flout them.

Find some of the rules you are expected to follow in a typical Nigerian setting:

1. You have to use your right hand always

things you will know from living in a Nigerian setting

In Nigeria, it is wrong for you to collect an object from an elderly person using your left hand. You may start to wonder why you have two hands if you only have to use the right one always.

Using the left hand means you have no respect and if you are around someone that has authority over you, you could get beaten for it.

2. You do not call people older than you by their first names

things you will know from living in a Nigerian setting

Everyone in your street who is older than you has to be addressed as ‘uncle’ or ‘aunty’. It does not matter whether they are related to you or not, you have to add that prefix before calling their first names otherwise, you go hear am.

3. You are to help an elderly person with his or her load

things you will understand from living in a Nigerian setting

If you live in a Nigerian home, you would understand that you have to help an elderly person with his load as soon as you sight him from a distance. Of course, this is mainly applicable where the person is a known family member. If you like, go and help a stranger with his load and become a tuber of yam in the process. Na your wahala be dat.

4. Do not answer your parent with ‘what’ when they call you

things you will understand from living in a Nigerian setting

It is very wrong for you to answer your parents this way when they call you. If you do not get severely beaten for answering them like that, then you will be lashed with words. If you live in a Nigerian house, you would have known this rule by now. It should become a part of you so that you do not answer people outside your home that way too.

5. You are not allowed to have a boyfriend till you are married

things you will understand from living in a Nigerian setting

Growing up in Nigeria is funny I must say; parents expect their wards to face their studies and not get distracted with the idea of dating or hanging out with boys.

If you are caught with a man during this period, you are so dead. If you must have a boyfriend, your meeting point has to be uncompleted buildings and dark corners. You are only at liberty to date when you are getting married.

6. You must add ‘brother’ or ‘sister’ to your siblings’ names

things you will know if you live in a Nigerian setting

In Nigeria, anyone who is older than you has to be accorded some respect; so far you were not born on the same day, then he is not your mate. If your immediate sibling is a week older than you, you are expected to add the prefix ‘brother’ or ‘sister’ to his or her name. You will be told this by words or by beating if you fail to do so.

7. Saturdays are for sanitation and cloth-washing

things you will know if you live in a Nigerian setting

Do not ever think you can sleep and wake up whenever you like on Saturdays; days like that are designated for cleaning the house and washing clothes.

If you live in a face-me-I-face-you-house, then you will have to wake up early to outdo your neighbor who may want to wash clothes and spread them on the line too. The environment must be cleaned then as you are meant to observe environmental before the famous wole-wole visit.
