This release is political scam of Buhari – Nigerians divided over Chibok girls

– Nigerians reacted to the news that the second Chibok schoolgirl was released by the Nigerian army

– Many of them praise Buhari and the military and ask to bring all girls back

– Some others say that the kidnap of the girls is the political scam

The Nigerian army has on May 19, Thursday, announced the rescue of the second Chibok girl abducted two years ago from Borno state by the deadly Boko Haram sect.

The second schoolgirl, Serah Luka, was among 97 women and children held hostage by Boko Haram who were rescued after clashes between soldiers and the insurgents in Borno state.

Luka reportedly was from the northeastern town of Madagali, in the state of Adamawa, which borders Borno.

The rescue of the second girl came as Amina Ali Nkeki who was freed on May 17 by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) from Sambisa forest, was flown in a presidential jet together with her family to Abuja, where she met with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock villa.

Amina made world headlines when news broke that she had escaped from the captivity of the insurgents.

She was the first of the Chibok girls to escape since the 276 schoolgirls were abducted at gunpoint from their boarding school.

At least 57 girls were able to escape almost immediately, but more than 200 have remained missing since then.

However, Nigerians divided in their reactions over the statement of the Nigerian military.

While some of them praised President Buhari and soldiers for such a great job, others criticized the incumbent government, saying that the whole abduction was a scam.
